Species Treated

Dr. Brenna Sakatch will see dogs, cats and rabbits for wellness & medical appointments.

Surgery

Proficient in HQHVSN – large dog spays, in heat, obese, pyometra, pregnant. Flank spays in cats. Scrotal or pre-scrotal castrations in dogs. Scrotal rabbit castrations. Experience with ex-laps, entropion surgery, tail and digit amputations, mass removals (large and small). Prophylactic gastropexy with sterile assistant.

Technical Skills

Blood collection, running IDEXX in-house diagnostics, cytologic interpretation (fecal, otic, skin, FNA’s). Proficient in injections, IV catheter placement, intubation, nail trims, ultrasound-guided cystocentesis, radiology positioning & more.

Dentistry

Experienced in COHAT’s – feline and canine extractions of all varieties, gingivoplasty, oral mass removals, crown amputations, dental radiography interpretation and scaling/polishing.

General Practice

Special interests in behaviour, dermatology, pain management and gastrointestinal disorders. Passionate about preventative medicine and nutrition.

Interactions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work well alongside multiple personalities, diffuse high-conflict situations. Passionate about staff, owner and patient emotional health.

We typically only book one shift at a new clinic to make sure we are a good fit for each other, prior to booking additional future dates. Surgery is not offered on the first shift. Our service area is shown below within the circled areas (with exception to the grayed out circle). Priority will be given to locally-owned clinics in order to support private practice owners who need time off & rescue/shelter clinics.
