Integrative Medicine

Integrative veterinary medicine is a term used to describe using a combination of modern western medicine to treat disease, as well as complementary therapies such as acupuncture, supplements, food therapy and emotional enrichment. Acupuncture (a branch of traditional Chinese medicine) has a longstanding use for a variety of ailments – pain, skin issues, behavioural changes, cancers and other ongoing diseases.

Integrative Veterinary Medicine Services Offered:

  • Physical examinations & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCVM) evaluation
  • Acupuncture including electroacupuncture or aqua-acupuncture when indicated
  • Herbal Medicine
  • Food Therapy
  • Vaccinations
  • Antibody titre testing for certain vaccines/viruses (Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Adenovirus, Panleukopenia)
  • Blood vitamin testing (Vitamin D, Magnesium, B12)
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Ongoing monitoring of chronic diseases
  • Nutrition counseling including home-cooked diets
  • Prescriptions when indicated

As a house-call veterinary service with a focus on acupuncture & end-of-life care, we require all of our clients to have a relationship with a veterinary clinic who can provide their pets with illness, dental, surgical and imaging services.
